About the job

Lead a freshly revamped Portlaoise convenience and forecourt store, managing the team, fresh food, customer standards and commercial performance.

What you will be doing

  • Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the store, keeping the shop, forecourt and customer facilities operating to a consistently high standard
  • Lead, roster, coach and develop the store team, setting clear expectations and dealing with performance or service issues promptly
  • Drive sales and profitability through strong control of labour, margin, stock, waste, availability, promotions and local execution
  • Maintain excellent fresh-food, deli and coffee standards, with close attention to food safety, presentation, range, availability and waste
  • Keep health-and-safety, fuel-site, cash-handling, food-safety and audit requirements under control across the whole operation
  • Work closely with group leadership on store performance, practical improvements and the next phase of growth

What we are looking for

  • Recent management experience in a convenience store, forecourt or comparable grocery operation
  • A strong hands-on leadership style and experience managing, rostering and developing a customer-facing retail team
  • Good commercial judgement, including practical experience of sales, margin, labour, stock, availability and waste control
  • Strong fresh-food knowledge, with the ability to maintain high standards across deli, coffee, food safety and customer service
  • The organisation and decision-making skills to take ownership of a busy store and deal with day-to-day issues confidently

Salary and benefits

€40,000–€45,000 a year · Bonus: €6,000
